Each writing assignment will be divided into three parts:
PART 1: IMPORTANT CONCEPTS (24 Points)
After reading both chapters, describe the 2 most important topics/concepts for YOU from each chapter (i.e., you must have 6 total important concepts in order to receive full credit. Each topic/concept should be a minimum of one paragraph in length (4 points per topic/concept).- so 3 concepts from each chapter.
PART 2: DIAGNOSTIC QUESTIONS (8 Points)
Each week, students will generate 8 diagnostic questions (from the readings) that are designed to help their professional practice and understanding of psychological disorders.
Psychological Disorder Chapters
Chapters assigned in: Assessment and treatment of childhood problems: A clinicianâs guide. (3rd ed.).
After reading each psychological disorder chapter, students will generate 4 questions related specifically to the assessment of the disorder. Ideally, the questions should assess specific symptoms without directly asking symptomatology. That is, the questions should generate a narrative from the client, rather than serve as symptom checklist (1 point per question).
Additional Writing Assignment Guidelines
Writing assignments must be typed and submitted in standard form (i.e., 1â page margins, Times New Roman, 12-point Font, single-spaced).
