I will need to record a 2 minute audio (speech) in response to the scenario below. Please read the scenario and write a response.

Scenario: Two fellow nurses are waiting for an elevator to take them to the lunch room for their
lunch break. The one nurse turns to the other and states: “Have you heard…they are now going
to put together a palliative care team for the hospital and even have a few beds on the fourth
floor for palliative care patients. Isn’t that a waste of money and use of nurses’ time. We already
have a hospice team and hospice beds on the third floor. Why do we need to duplicate what we
already have?” Having taken this course…how would you reply to this nurse?
Elevator speech: According to Time magazine, an average elevator ride in New York City lasts
about 118 seconds. Imagine that you happened to enter an elevator at the same time as a hiring
manager for your dream job…or a fellow nurse that is asking you about something you just spent
six weeks reading about. Using the New York City average, you have just under two minutes to
pitch your answer and influence how this person will think in the future. What would you say?
What would you do? Would the pressure get to you? Would you freeze in terror? In 118 seconds,
you can do yourself in or persuade the person to think differently about that topic. An elevator
pitch is a brief statement or statements to support something or someone. You never know when
opportunity will knock. You might bump into someone influential during your next trip to the
grocery store or the gym. You should be ready to deliver one at a moment’s notice.
