Within this organization, there are a group of physicians that work in collaboration to assist with patient care, this group of providers includes neurosurgeons, oncologists, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners. Providers must work closely with other care teams for the patient.
When patients are referred to the organization, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician assistants triage information and assign it to the correct physicians.
The providers are vital to the success of the organization because, with efficient care, care can continue throughout the patient’s life, also the success of providers’ care plans allows the patient to receive the most cost-efficient care while the hospital also retains the patient as well.
Board of Trustees
Internal

The board here for this organization is responsible for not just the performance and expenditures but also the success. Within this organization, a certain number of cases must be performed for certain procedures which affect the overall budget and profits, the board is able to analyze these numbers and strategically plan how the hospital will meet those requirements or implement other practices. Also, they oversee all policies and practices and introduce board meetings to allow others to have input.
Patients
External
Patients allow for the functioning of this organization, Pts are either self-referred or referred by outside physicians and then will be signed by a Physician that will follow them for the rest of their lives, which will be one of the oncologists on staff. Pts are a vulnerable class so they receive intense care, Pts are responsible for following preventive care recommendations, which they are they are scheduled for every 3-6 months or as needed.
Administrators
Internal
Administrators within this organization work to oversee day-to-day activities/operations and carry out duties of the board. They are there to make sure the policies, procedures, plans, and strategies are adhered to and monitor the metrics of the organization, they serve as direct connections for staff.
Nurses
Internal
Nurses make up most of the staff due to demand. Nurses work alongside physicians and perform/assist with the care of patients and serve as a second point of contact for patients, with them being within the care team for patients, which allows for care to be efficient.
Research Coordinators
Internal
Research coordinators work with all of the following; Physicians, Patients, Administrators, Nurses, Board of Trustees.
Researchers are responsible for bringing in new patients, handling case studies, and assisting care teams to have collaborative care for patients. The research these individuals perform, improves treatment, patient satisfaction, and the overall success of the organization.
Insurers
External
Insurers work with patients and organizations to cover care, prescriptions, preventative treatment, as well as cover any current treatment, etc. Insurers will contact the organization’s Insurance department to discuss approvals, denials, and appeals. Since most approvals require a medical necessity, the insurers will work closely with physicians or the care team to discuss coverage.

Tomislav Mihaljevic is the current Ceo of this Organization, being that this is one of America’s top hospitals, Thomislac shares the same vision as the board of trustees.
With a previous loss of over 200 million in operation costs, Tom has plans to grow the organization, mergers, and virtual visits to try to control costs.

Part 2: Fill out the matrix below. Be sure to include all 10 stakeholders from part 1 and explain why you felt each stakeholder fell into the respective category. This can be based on the readings, your experience, or your opinion. If no stakeholders fit into one of the power/stakes groups, put N/A.
Stakeholder groups
Why?
High power/ High stakes
Physcians/ Medical Staff
CEO
Board of Trustees
Administors
These 4 Stakeholders share high power and high stakes because they all work together in carrying out the success of the organization by bringing about generalized policies, changes, and practices.
One of the main sources of revenue for this organization consists of Gamma Knife treatment, these stakeholders work together to bring in patients. The Ceo Tom Mihaljevic is currently overseeing the operation and net costs for the previous year and creating new practices such as expanding, merging, and more to deal with this loss for the previous year.
“The board is legally responsible for the hospital’s operations. It has specific responsibilities for defining the hospital’s mission and long-range direction “ (Shi & Singh, 2022)
High power/ Low stakes
Suppliers
Insurers
Insurers determine the type of services and treatment rendered to a patient. Since insurers are the third party. Sometimes physicians may have to call to get a treatment approved because most insurers only cover treatment if proven to be a medical necessity. If insurance fails to cover treatment, not only does this affect the patient’s ability to receive care but it also causes more expenses for the patient and loss to the organization.
Suppliers are reasonable for providing the equipment necessary for delivering care to patients. When items are ordered for patients, time is important due to their health so it is important that all suppliers are efficient and cost-effective, so administrators work closely to monitor if other suppliers are a better fit.
Low power/ High stakes
Research Coordinators
Nurses
Patients
Even though these 3 stakeholders have low power within the organization, they are vital in determining the success of the organization.
Research Coordinators provide vital research and assistance to care plans for providers. Since they are responsible for case studies they work with many other departments which brings in more patient referrals.
Nurses are the point of contact for patients when a provider is not available, they are knowledgeable about the patient’s current care and allow for timely care.
Patients determine the operation of the organization, and the pts within this organization are lifetime patients if they choose to be, retaining the patients within this organization allows for continuous efficient care and also improves costs.
Low power/ Low stakes
Transport Team
The transport team can be substituted depending on the patients’ insurance since virtual visits have become available to assist with this team it is rare that patients require service but it remains offered.
