Think about the job you currently have (or had most recently). Why did you accept that position? Was it to support yourself financially to meet your basic needs, or were there other motives for working? Describe your social experience at work. Did the job make you feel valued or devalued? How did the social and prestige elements of the job affect the way you felt about it?
Think about the best mentor you ever had. How did you come across your mentor and was that person a mentor to you at work or outside of work? How did they help to socialize you to the context you were in? Were they assigned to you or did your relationship just naturally develop? What are the characteristics or attributes that made them such a good mentor to you? Do you feel that it was a win–win situation for both of you in this relationship?
Describe the most unfair situation you have ever seen at work. Why do you think the situation was bad?
