your experience can be similar or different from the predicted theories or whats found in research. the key is to examine it from a theorethical perspective. (For example, a starting point might be the following: “Snyder, Tanke and Berscheid [1977] concluded that merely expecting someone to be attractive would create interactions in which people behave in a more friendly and outgoing manner, and indeed, I have often noticed that when I am in an optimistic and open mood, I have more success in finding dates”.)
