Purpose: To begin the process of developing a cultural awareness for the organization’s workforce.
Instructions:
First complete the AHA’s Diversity, Equity, and Cultural Competency Assessment Tool for Leaders (Borkowski & Meese, 2021, pp. 38-
41.) Then select two of the six areas from the tool in black headings) and discuss what you gleaned from them in this assessment exercise. Why are these two particular areas of the tool so important to your development as a nurse leader? (Note: if you desire to discuss the first section of 11 questions on p. 38 as one of your two, it does not have a black heading. You may call it
“Demographics and Strategies.”)
Generally speaking, discussion posts should be between 250 and 400 words.
