• Give a broad overview of the strategies used and thoroughly analyze two separate moments with the interview. Consider all communication strategies including verbal and non-verbal strategies (cadence, tone, pitch, posture, facial expressions, eye contact, movements, pauses/silence, etc.), active listening strategies, types of questions, motivational interviewing techniques, etc.
• Consider factors that may have impacted the interview process, structure, and outcome. Include a discussion of the client’s background such as their age, health status, background, family situation and/or roommate dynamics, and pertinent cultural considerations.
• Thoroughly discuss the effectiveness of the entire interaction and two separate, specific moments within the interview.
• Discuss alternative approach(es) that may have been more effective.
• Discuss how this experience will inform your future practice as a nurse.
• Throughout your paper, use a pseudonym or the initials of your client (not the client’s name) and make it clear that you are doing so.
• Use 7th edition APA style format. Include a title page, headings, citations, and a reference list. Since this paper is a reflection, use of the first person (saying “I”) is accepted and expected.
• Limit your paper to 5 pages, not including title page or reference list.
• Use at LEAST three scholarly references to support your analyses and conclusions.
