For this assignment, you will prepare a comprehensive, substantive research paper based on a current health care law, policy, or ethical issue that has been enacted, occurred, or has been otherwise particularly relevant in the United States within the past 5 years. This issue should be unique to the US and not a global or international topic.
Objectives
In addition to a summary of the topic and its relevance to the US Healthcare system, your paper should address the following questions in a substantive manner:
What legal or regulatory issues are most relevant or most impacted by this topic?
What financial issues does this topic create within the US Healthcare system?
What policies have been enacted or proposed related to this topic?
What has been the public’s response to these policies?
What ethical concerns should policy makers and healthcare professionals consider related to this topic?
How might this issue change or evolve in the next five years?
Guidance:
Create a quality, substantive research paper that addresses the objectives of the assignment, your instructor-approved topic selection, and the expectations established in the grading rubric.
A minimum of 1,500 words excluding the title page and references is required.
Use at least five scholarly, peer reviewed journal articles written within the last five years cited. You may use other reliable sources (news articles, older articles, etc.) as supplemental sources, but at least five of your sources should meet this expectation.
