Before beginning this project, you will need to determine the public health issue, the vulnerable population/community, and the overall programmatic approach
(e.g., advocacy, policy, etc.). You may use the context of Final Project One and/or Two for this project—but this is not a requirement.
In this project, you will form a presentation on negotiation planning which mediates discussion that resolves a conflict among stakeholders. All negotiation planning techniques begin with information gathering before recommended strategies are formed. This project will walk you through these steps from collecting and analyzing information (i.e., situational analysis) to the formation of recommendations based upon evidence.
Specifically, this project will involve the development of a presentation for a negotiation proposal that involves the following components:
● Information on the conflict and stakeholders,
● An analysis of the stakeholders’ relations,
● Considerations for exchanging information to resolve conflicts, and
● The strategies for forming a negotiation agreement.
Please note: This project utilizes a common approach for resolving conflicts called principled negotiation, which works on resolving conflict by framing a mutually
shared outcome (i.e., a “win-win” approach).
