Read the popular media article about the topic. You must then find two peer-reviewed resources (journal articles), about this topic. Your reflection paper should reflect what you learned and your ability to critically analyze the media and the research.
Introduction: What is the area of study? What is the ‘problem?’
Context: What is the history behind the current topic? What have researchers previously known about the condition?
What’s New: What new research has developed? In other words, what has happened recently such that there is a recently published pop-media article about it?
Scientific support: Does the peer-reviewed research support the claims made in the popular-media article? How / why, or why not?
Limitations: Have any findings been misconstrued? Are there any limitations of the current research?
Implications: What other research is needed? Where is this field going? Are there clinical implications for psychologists? Other professionals?
