With new requirement for radiographers to comment on radiographic images from A&E to assist in fast tracking the patient’s pathway through the hospital. With the ongoing pressures in the NHS there is advantages and disadvantages to this.
Disadvantage- staffing shortages may mean this cannot be implemented, reluctance for change, operator dependant.
Advantages- decreasing A&E times, good for continuing professional development, increases the standard of radiographer practice.
