ALSO ATTACHED AS A WORD DOC WITH A RUBRIC
Students will conduct and submit a journal article critique/summary of current
literature or research from peer-reviewed, professional journals or sources (within the last year
– 12 calendar months) related to the topics of health, healthcare, or their future
profession/career.
You should choose a subject or topic that you are interested in researching more about. (nursing in this case)
A few
examples of peer-reviewed professional journals include: the American Journal of Public
Health; the New England Journal of Medicine; the Online Journal of Issues in Nursing, and JAMA
– the Journal of the American Medical Association. You can use Google Scholar but make sure
you have access to the full text of the journal and that it is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal.
Each review will be limited to two-pages, double-spaced typed.

following and be in APA Format. Use proper APA formatting for your References page
1. Citation of Article: (5 points)
o Author(s) Name (1 point)
o Year/Date Article Published within last 12 months (1 point)
o Article Title (1 point)
o Journal Name or Source name (1 point)
o Volume, Issue, Pages (1 point)
2. Research study findings and researcher’s conclusions and/or recommendations (15 points)
3. Student’s lessons learned/take-aways from the study (20 points)
4. How this connects to your future career/profession (10 points)
