The objective of this assignment is to allow you an opportunity to learn more about one specific human resources challenge within healthcare organizations and to provide well researched recommendations.
You will submit a 9 – 10 minute PowerPoint complete with Voice Over presentation to the âAssignments Tab: Healthcare Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Research Project” no later than April 27th @ 11:59 p.m. Presentations that exceed 10 minutes mark will be stopped by me at the 10 minute mark and will be graded on the content that I saw.
Here are 7 Topics that you can choose from for the Research Project. If you wish to explore a different HR/Organizational Behavior issue, that is fine with me.

How does globalization affect healthcare organizations all around the world and in your local environment? What are the key issues of the growing healthcare workforce complexity?
Sustainability: Organizational Behavioral issues in Healthcare organizations. What are the issues and comprehensive characteristics of sustainability in healthcare organizations? How can you use sustainability strategies to impact organizational behavior and improve the impact of healthcare organizations? Can you transform healthcare using the principles, strategies and tools of sustainability?
Succession Planning: What are the goals of succession planning? What factors have motivated healthcare organizations to create succession plans? What is the process of effective succession planning? Many healthcare organizations have not created succession plans. Why?
Job analysis and Job Design: Consider—Reasons organizations invest time in performing job analysis. HR’s responsibilities in conducting job analyses. The difference between job analyses, job descriptions and job specifications. The relationship between job analysis and job design. How does job analysis and job design affect Organizational Behavior?
Challenges in Organizational Behavior and Development: Consider the major Organizational Behavior and Development Challenges in the healthcare arena. Consider organizational culture, diversity, employee management and performance appraisal systems (to name a few)
The project will include information organized in the following manner:
Introduction and Background Review with a description of the selected topic (main elements, concept models, key general ideas) as well as research on the key concepts and elements that you identified for your topic, including historical perspective and contemporary review (references no later than 4 years old) [40 Points]
Focus, Significance or Impact of your issue as it pertains to Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management (narrow the focus to the topics of our course and healthcare organizations). [30 Points]
Success Cases or Programs (you will relate your topic to specific examples in your own organization or other specific case studies that illustrate the key issues that you have chosen to address on your topic). [20 Points]
Practical Recommendations and Conclusions: Provide your recommended approach to address the key issues identified in your topic and present a logical conclusion for your issue based on the information brought about from your research). [30 Points]
– Grammar and other writing errors in your Executive Summary, or formatting mistakes in your PowerPoint’s will reduce up to 20 Points
– Verify and support your ideas with reliable sources as references and citations in APA style [at least four (4) peer-reviewed articles and 2 (2) other reliable sources or publications from the Internet]. The textbook for the semester does not count as one of your references. Review the writing and assignment protocols regarding appropriate references.[10 points]
Additionally, you are required to prepare a written executive summary not more than one (1) page and submit it to the Assignments Tab: Executive Summary no later than April 21st @ 11:59 p.m. [20 Points]
