I have chose Option B-Change:
* Chapter 1 Introduction: This chapter introduces the project and provides a clear statement of the
change project that you plan to introduce. The change project selected can be clinical redesign, health
infrastructure redevelopment, continuous improvement, technology, patient experience, clinical
governance or organisational restructure, as long as, the project has a start and end date that requires
change and benefits to be realised.
The chapter should include the following:
1. Introduction
1.2. The issue which is the focus of your project
1.3. Identify the need for change
1.3.1 A contextualisation of the key themes/variables that you will focus on which should come
from your research question.
1.3.2 Theme/variable 1
1.3.3 Theme/variable 2
1.3.4 Theme/variable 3 (etc)
1.4 Summary and conclusion of chapter and link into next chapter
Chapter 2 Literature Review: This chapter should be a systemised or realist review (Grant &
Booth, 2009) that draws extensively on the literature relevant to your area of change. A short
description of your search strategy, indicating the process by which you found and selected
the relevant publications, should be included. A PRISMA diagram can be used to visualise this
process. It should detail the parameters set for your review, such as search terms and search
strings, databases used, date parameters, types of literature and inclusion / exclusion criteria.
You should also state the number of articles or literature you have included in the review and
the process by which this occurred. The review should provide a synthesised critique of the
literature on the project topic area. Additionally, it should outline the implications of this literature
for the project and provide evidence to support the rationale for change. The Literature Review
should conclude with a brief overall summary of the findings and implications for the project.
The chapter should include the following:
2. Methodology of the Literature Review
2.1 Introduction
2.2 Purpose
2.3 Study Design
2.3.1 Identifying the Research Question
2.3.2 Statement of Aims (similar to the research aims)
2.3.3 Identifying Relevant studies
2.3.3.1 Search Strategy
2.3.3.2 Study Selection
2.3.3.3 Charting the Data
2.3.4 Collating, Summarising and Reporting the Results
2.4 Summary and conclusion of chapter and link into next chapter
Chapter 3 Results of the Literature Review: This chapter presents the findings of the literature
review. You should also state the number of articles or literature you have included in the review
and the process by which this occurred. This chapter should provide a synthesised critique of
the literature on the project topic area. Additionally, it should outline the implications of this
literature for the project and provide evidence to support the rationale for change. The Literature
Review should conclude with a brief overall summary of the findings and implications for the
project. The chapter should include the following:
3. Results of the Literature Review
3.1 Introduction
3.2 Literature Search Characteristics -number of studies, number excluded/included etc
3.3 Theme/variable 1
3.3.1 Subheading 1
3.3.2. Subheading 2
3.3.3. Subheading 3
3.4 Theme/variable 2
3.4.1 Subheading 1
3.4.2. Subheading 2
3.4.3. Subheading 3
3.5 Theme/variable 3
3.5.1 Subheading 1
3.5.2. Subheading 2
3.5.3. Subheading 3
3.6 Summary and conclusion of chapter and link into next chapter
Chapter 4 Change Roadmap and Supporting Narrative: Building on the findings of the literature
review you will present a Change Roadmap on 1 Page that has a change vision, and includes the
key elements needed for managing change to achieve the project benefits (template will be shared
in class sessions and via VLE). An effective âChange Roadmap on a Pageâ should:
* Provide a visual high level (brief summary) plan on a page that outlines an overarching
strategy (not prescriptive) for managing change
* Enable the owner (eg. the Project Sponsor) of the Roadmap to translate the key elements for
managing change into tasks that can be assigned and tracked throughout the project.
* Serve as a communication tool that speaks to what the project is aspiring to achieve, and the
narratives about the change and benefits.
* ⪠Foster transparency in the reasons for change and the required change areas for reaching
benefits – ensuring internal and external stakeholders are aligned to the Roadmap for change
A narrative supporting document that justifies your proposed change, change management activities
and outcome measures should also be included. You will illustrate operational and evaluation details
and undertake a risk assessment with a clear timeline for implementation. Additionally, you should
outline your role in supporting this change and note any gaps in your leadership. The chapter should
include the following:
4. Change Roadmap
4.1 Introduction
4.2 Contextualisation of the review findings to change focus
4.3 Conceptual model/framework from the literature review
4.3.1 Subheading 1 Rational for model/approach and its components in a specific context
4.3.2 Subheading 2 Rational for model/approach and its components in a specific context
4.4 Change Roadmap and Narrative
4.4.1 Subheading 1 Rational for who should be involved and operational details
4.5 How will the process be evaluated?
4.6 Risk Assessment and timeframe
4.7 Any gaps and limitations in your leadership to support implementation of the intervention?
4.8 Summary and conclusion of chapter and link into next chapter.
Chapter 5 -Discussion and Conclusions: This final chapter should address four key areas: summary,
interpretation, limitations, and conclusions. This chapter should take the form of a critical discussion
linking the aims and illustrating how the research questions has been answered.
5. Discussion and Conclusion
5.1 Introduction
5.1.1 Represent the project aims, objectives, questions and show how these have been answered
5.1.2 Represent the project aims, objectives, questions and show how these have been
5.1.3 Represent the project aims, objectives, questions and show how these have been answered
5.2 The key contributions of the study to enable implementation.
5.3 The importance and impact of co-design
5.4 Limitations and/weaknesses of this study and the implications of this for your key findings
5.5 Areas for future research
