Students will be responsible for an essay in the form of a proposal outlining a quality improvement project or program or significantly modify an existing one. Developing this proposed QI project will enable students to explore and develop a health issue in depth, with the potential to integrate their work into actual management.
What needs to be fixed or improved?
The proposed QI project may be based on an area of interest with which you are familiar from past or current work experiences, or you may select an area in which you hope to gain future experience. You should draw from personnel working in the field, case studies illustrating the problem, and literature discussing the subject area in detail in order to develop your plan. Make sure to develop clear goals and a case as to why the QI project is necessary.
Though the actual project may never be implemented, the proposal must be feasible, realistic, relevant, and in some way connected to an actual group, program, or organization.
The paper should be approximately 2500 – 3000 words long excluding attachments and references. The paper should be formatted in 7th edition APA format. The paper should include an Executive Summary of no more than one page but a single paragraph is sufficient.

Executive Summary
Introduction of the QI project with the problem statement and the why
Summary or literature review of the issue being addressed
QI proposal- goals, who would be involved, resources needed, deliverables, implementation timeframe, and outcome measures
Summary of QI project tying the important of quality improvement identification , strategies, and overall management of healthcare systems for optimal performance
You are to use several external credible and or peer reviewed references. In a paper of this length at least 7-10 references are expected. Plagiarism will result in a failing grade

4) Conclusion
Only one of those references may be from the popular press or a textbook. All material must be properly cited.
