My current philosophy for driving change in the healthcare industry is to provide quality and accessible healthcare to all people, regardless of age, race, gender, ethnicity, education, demographics, or socio-economic status. Providing healthcare without factors of privilege control or power but that there is equality in healthcare, that everyone has access to better health and healthcare, at a reduced rate. I would like to see changes in all healthcare sectors where healthcare disparities and inequities are alleviated and the focus transitions to more to a culture of preventative care process rather than a controllable treatment plan. I would like to see a more holistic approach to medicine, this approach encompasses the ideology of prevention and restoration, rather than cure and replace, this physiological focus of treatment is towards the individual rather than the illness (Hudson, 2017). I would like to see a reduction in invasive techniques, this in turns reduces a patient’s recovery time, decreases hospital stays, postoperative pain and it is extremely more cost effective (Darzi & Munz, 2004), this also decreases risk of complications and increase accuracy and surgical precision. The goal of change is to streamline quality healthcare, cost-efficient care, effective care and efficient, accessible and optional treatment options. I would like to see healthcare be more flexible, agile, resilient and secure, providing quality healthcare to all consumers and supporting and facilitating healthcare change and technology that benefits the masses and not he majority.
