and APA style in every assignment. Put your name in the filename of every
assignment. Watch for feedback. Questions to Inbox. Discussion Board, Video,
and Quiz for Mod 1 are to help with this assignment, so maybe do them first!
Item 1. About your research question (max 2 points)
After searching your topic in Google Scholar (set library to Nova Southeastern
University), write a paragraph about a possible research question. Select
something you have a passion about and that has testable variables. Pick
something you will stick with for all the assignments if you can. Chapter 2
Jacobsen will help you with selecting a research question . You may revise this
question after you do the rest of the items!
Item 2. Your Research Proposal Topic (max 3 points)
Find 3-10 references from scholarly journals related to your topic and your research
questions. Write the references in APA style. Write 3 sentences for each reference
about what you like about the article and how you might use it. It will take longe r now if
you pick 10 references, but it will take you more time later if you pick 3! If you are
certain of your topic, pick 10, if you are still searching and narrowing, pick 3. A scholarly
journal can be found at Google Scholar by typing in the topic name and or relevant
terms or authors. A scholarly journal in APA style will be sure to have all the sections
you need to work on method details later such as, title, abstract, in tro, method, results,
discussion, and references.
Item 3. Why your Research Proposal Topic is Important (max 10 points)
State your research question clearly in terms of the population, the phenomenon
measured, the phenomenon manipulated by the experimenter or observed and
recorded, and the expected outcomes and why they are expected. You should be able
to cover this in a paragraph or two. But again, the more you write now, the more
feedback you get, and the less you will need to do later. Use PICOT.
