The guides must cover topics in the respective
modules: “Challenges and Coping in Mental Health” for module two and “Adult Mental Health and Mental Health
Organizations” for module four.
Guides must include a link and brief summary to one relevant video documentary that
helps explain the topic. Explore the CDC’s Health Literacy Clear Communication tools and the Health Communication
Playbook for best practices for promoting health literacy.
Students are required to reference American Public Health Association (APHA) mental health guides as examples. Be sure to
also include health promotion resources provided by the World Health Organization. Students are encouraged to use
supplemental content for this exam, such as incorporating information from: CDC (Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention), Monitoring the Future Survey, the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS), national/state/local initiatives,
professional organizations and resources, evidence-based approaches, etc. Students should also consider and incorporate
the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) 8 Areas
