You will need to create a case study (can be fictional) based on an older person (over the age of 65 years) that has a complex medical history with at least two chronic illnesses and be taking at least five medications.
There are two parts to this assignment that will be presented within the one document.
Part A – will require a written justification for the use of geriatric assessment frameworks and then the critical analysis of one framework relevant to the assessment of an older person within the scope of your practice. You will present this in the form of an academic essay and your argument needs to be supported by literature.
Part B – will require you to use the chosen geriatric assessment framework to assess an older person of your choice. The assessment will require you to address five of the body systems and then document and interpret potential and actual problems impacting the case. This part can be written up in the form of a table and must include the identification of abnormal findings and the associated health problems for your case.
