After reading the material, you are asked to reflect in a 2 ½ -3 page analysis paper upon what you have read to determine how it fits with your beliefs about nursing and your lived experiences. This is NOT a summary of what was read. Instead it is a paper that demonstrates thinking and is an opportunity for you to analyze and share how you think about what was assigned for reading. You will analyze the reading and ask questions about its meaning, applicability, and value or utility for practice. This is not a journal; writing should be done in the third person or the subject. DO NOT write in first person and do not use the words I, me, myself, my, mine, we, us, ourselves, our, and ours. These words are first person. All papers must be written in Times New Roman 12-point font.
The paper should be word processed and spelling and grammar checked and should take about two and a half to three double-spaced pages (approximately 400 words) to develop. Correct use of APA style must be applied. The paper will probably address several of these questions or other thoughts that you think are important as you read the material for the second time. Remember, you are forming an opinion (or argument) about the topic you have read about. Develop a thesis statement that reflects your opinion and support your thesis statement with evidence from the assigned readings in the course and provide an example. You will be using APA format to support the literature you have read and are addressing in your writings.
