PICOT Question: In elderly hospitalized patient, how do hourly rounding, assigned sitter, and bed alarm as compared to call for assistance decrease the number of falls during patientsâ period in the hospital?
âOâ Element Outcome: the data in this study shows that the direct care nursing staff making purposeful point-of-care rounds will experience positive outcomes in preventive patient falls. Furthermore, other interventions such as fall risk identification, alarm, sitters, and patient education play a role in reducing falls while hospitalized.
