Scenario example: Fiona is a 29-year-old Hispanic female with T1D. Fiona’s job requires her to travel the state and she has unpredictable work hours. Because of her travel schedule, meals are sporadic and she often has to buy food on the go rather than packing a lunch. Fiona is currently on a fixed regimen of insulin and she checks her blood glucose levels four to five times throughout the day. Recently, she has been feeling anxious with a rapid heartbeat in the afternoons and suspects she is experiencing hypoglycemia. In one instance, her coworker said she was “acting funny.” Fiona comes to your endocrine clinic for recommendations.
