Reflective Discussion #1 Self-Awareness
After engaging in several self-reflective activities (the Harvard implicit bias test, political typology quiz, and ethics quiz), reading the Luiselli book, and your own personal experience, you the student will engage in a discussion about self-awareness. Understanding our own bias is the step in addressing issues of inequity and discrimination that affect the nursing profession and our own practice. It is important to understand oneself to care effectively for populations that are different than their own ethnic, racial, and social background.
