6 Discussion Posts (25 point each; 150 points total): You will need to both have one
detailed-post per discussion as well as respond to at least two other students’ responses
(3-4 is ideal). You need to make a full-faith effort to both answer the questions and respond
to your peers. You must defend your points of view with actual data, usually in the form of
citing research that is discussed in class or in your textbook, although external citations are
welcome. External citations MUST come from peer-reviewed sources. Citations are
expected and required to earn the full points for each post. The ONLY exception for this is
in your first discussion post, which is about describing yourself, where citations are not
required. (I will do responses obviously)
In this week’s lecture, we discussed interpersonal attraction. In order to demonstrate your understanding, please respond to all the following:
Which of the two contradictory conceptualizations of love (i.e., Birds of a feather; Opposites attract) do you believe in? Why?
What is the role of similarity within this conceptualization?
Which of the two theoretical perspectives (i.e., Sexual Strategies Theory, Bio-Social Theory) do you believe is correct? Why?
