Approved topic for the Social Psychology term papers are:
Learned Helplessness–How This Impacts Self Esteem
Papers are to be 6 to 8 pages in length and must use a minimum of 5 quality sources. Encyclopedias, dictionaries, wikipedia, newspapers, and popular magazines are not appropriate resource material for a senior level course. Students must use at least 2 academic or professional journal articles as sources and the textbook may be used for a source of information.
Each paper must be written at the senior college level and must be correctly documented both in the text of the paper and in the references section. Students who fail to cite sources will be failed automatically. Plagiarism is not tolerated at all. Students are required to use APA documentation style to cite in the text of the paper and on the references page. Please refer to the Purdue University OWL site (located under External Links) to learn how to correctly use the APA manual. Plagiarized papers will be issued a zero–I have a no tolerance policy for this behavior. It is the same as stealing!
Formatting the Paper: Each paper should contain the following sections:
Title page
Introduction section (1 page)
Literature Review section (3 to 4 pages)
Conclusion section (2 pages)
References (all sources listed in alphabetical order by author last name–see APA)
Be sure to type your section headings at the beginning of each new section of the paper
Papers are to be submitted through turnitin.com to insure that compliance with plagiarism rules have been followed. Do not submit a paper which you wrote for another course–I expect original work! Plagiarism is not tolerated and papers that are clearly “cut and paste” jobs will receive a zero! Students who do not document in the text of the paper and on the references page will also receive a zero! There are no second chances so do this correctly the first time around!
This class is a senior/graduate level theory class. Students are expected to know how to research and write quality papers using APA documentation style.
