Bakcground Info:
When interventions are implemented they may at first appear to be working well. However, these interventions sometimes stop working after just a few weeks or months. While it is possible that a new intervention may be necessary, often the solution is to revisit the original intervention to identify potential problems of procedural integrity that may be hampering the treatment.
For this Discussion, you will consider the measures of integrity in single-case research. You will examine the role of procedural integrity in intervention research and practice. You will also consider the impact of systematic approaches to treatment integrity on the success of intervention implementation.
To Prepare:
Consider why integrity is important to research, including measures of integrity.
ASSIGNMENT:
Post a response to the following questions:
Why do you believe treatment of integrity is vital to interpret the results of intervention research?
How does using a systematic approach to address treatment integrity, such as discussed in Kupzyk and Shriver (2016), increase the likelihood of having good integrity in intervention implementation?
Why do you think documentation of treatment integrity is frequently lacking in behavioral intervention research (and practice too)?
