The Character I choose was the main character in The Aviator, Howard Hughs. Some might not know this but this movie and character is based on a true story of Howard Hughs.The article I found discussed and talk about Howard Hughs suffering from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). In the textbook it talks about this in more detail saying that a person who has OCD has unwanted repetitive thoughts or compulusions. In the movie some symptoms of this are frequently washing his hands, aviod people or certain objects that he thought where conaminated with germs.In one specific clip from the movie Howard Hughs meets with the Senetor or Maine. The Senetor of maine purposfully put his fingerprint on a clear drinking glass and served him a very bacteria infested dish. This made him overthink alot and then after isolated himself for a while. Some treatment options according to an article is medication, psycotherapy or a combination of both. They do not spesify what kind in the article what kind of medication and psycotherapy.

The Character I choose was Aril from The Little Mermaid. Aril showed signs and symptoms of (OCD) obsessive compulsive personality disorder, Disposophobia often associated with hoarding. Aril was obsess with Prince Eric and human life. So much so she was willing to give her own voice up to be with Prince Eric. She collected items from the boats, from land and would hoard them. She had an anxiety and fear losing her collectives. Hoarding usually appears in teens to early adults. Riel’s need to save these items and being upset by the thought of getting rid of them was a clear sign of both adipose and OCD. In some ways Aril appear to be delusional to think that Prince Eric would fall in love with her because of her looks, when in fact it was her voice, which she no longer had. I belive psychotherapy , more specifically cognitive behavioral therapy assist in identifying unhealthy negative beliefs and behaviors.
