This is a literature review on my own chosen topic and the title is ” Social Cognition in Major Depressive Dissorder: An overview of neural mechanisms however, if you can offer me a better title for this it would be much appreciated as we need to form our own.
You will write a scholarly review with a focus on neuropsychological data, methodology, clinical
considerations, recent advances and future directions. The review should demonstrate synthesis, in‐
depth analysis and critical evaluation of relevant theories/issues and empirical evidence that you are
citing in your work, appropriate for this level of study. You will structure your literature review in a
coherent way, including the title, an abstract, an introduction, a main section and a conclusion.
Your literature review will then explore how your chosen cognitive function is affected in your chosen neuropsychological or mental health condition (There are other ways to attempt this essay, but this is the easiest way to think about it)
In this case, you will have to discuss in detail how your chosen cognitive condition is affected in MDD. You will need to include high-quality studies in support of your statements (e.g., studies which have an appropriate sample size, studies which include a control condition, meta-analyses if available).
In your literature review, beyond describing how your chosen cognitive function is affected, you will also critically evaluate how alterations in the brain contribute to the impairment of that function in the disorder – so you will need to discuss the neural background of your chosen topic
You will discuss the neural background of how your chosen cognitive condition may be affected in MDD. In your essay, you will need to more specifically explore how neural alterations/dysfunctions in MDD affect your chosen cognitive function. Again, you will need to include high-quality studies in support of your statements
Please note that any discussion of treatment strategies for your chosen condition should supplement the discussion on the link between cognitive function and chosen condition.
Here, you can include a discussion on the different treatment strategies and discuss how and whether they are effective in addressing the cognitive difficulty you have chosen for MDD.
