Use the Radio Podcast: On Drugs with Geoff Turner as your starting point. Take something from the Podcast you find surprising/controversial or even unlikely and write a short paper outlining both the point from the Podcast and your response to it. For each side of the argument you will have to do a little research so as to be able to back the point. What supports the claim in the Podcast, what supports or did you think supported your previous take on the issue? Do a critical analysis. What do you now believe to be true and why is this a better conclusion? A good paper sets up a question (introduces 2 ways something may be seen or understood) and has a clear thesis statement (what are you going to argue is the answer/resolution to the question) in the opening (first) paragraph.
Do this with two of the Podcasts, one podcast per assignment. The paper should be six (double spaced pages), not less than 4 pages, and no longer than 8 as I will stop reading at the bottom of the 8th page. The paper and bibliography (reference list) have to be in APA format. You must hand one of the completed papers in on or before the last class. The other may be handed in at the final exam.
