Do you use the scientific method, or elements of the scientific method to learn new information? The first section of chapter 2 in your text book talks about empiricism and the scientific method. Read this section and think about ways in which you learn new knowledge that you trust to be true. One element of the scientific method is via using hypotheses which are falsifiable. Describe an everyday experience in which you could propose a hypothesis and use falsifiability to test your hypothesis. Make your example specific, that is, provide enough detail to show your knowledge about falsifiability and how it is used.

What it will require is correct font, font size, spacing of text, correct margins, in text citation of your textbook and an APA formatted reference section including the text.
Example Paper:
When testing a hypothesis using the scientific method, one characteristic of the hypothesis is that it must be falsifiable, meaning that it could be proven to be false based on the data collected (Schacter, Gilbert, Nock & Wegner, 2020). Every workday I walk from the light rail train station on Colfax Avenue to the North Classroom Building. On my walk I have noticed that at the back door of Saint Elizabethâs church on 11th Street there are volunteers who give out free food to homeless people regularly. I believe this is a very good action to take, that it greatly helps these people. I have developed a hypothesis that because of the food that is distributed here, that these people would not ask a person who is walking by them for money, since they are waiting to receive the free food. However, I have never walked directly through this group of people to see if my hypothesis is true or not. I have not done so because I would feel uncomfortable and guilty if I was asked and said no.
I could test my hypothesis by designing a simple study and collecting data. I could walk right next to this group on my way to the office and see if they ask me for money or not. If I wanted to further refine my study, I could recruit other experimenters to walk in this area and observe if they were asked for money or not. If any of the experimenters are asked for a donation, this would falsify my hypothesis.
