I have already created an outline for my paper that may be helpful to follow. I will upload that, along with the Rubric for the assignment. I have also included a PDF copy of the textbook for this course. My hope is that you can use my outline to create a paper that I can then edit accordingly if I need to. Thank you for your help.
The purpose of this assignment is to develop writing skills in the domain of history. Unlike scientific writing that aims for objectivity, historical writing is typically focused on narratives, acknowledging the significance of social and historical context, particulars of an individual, and pluralities (i.e., multiple perspectives). However, succinct writing is still desirable, multiple ‘hypotheses’ can be considered (i.e., which factors contributed to a situation, what values were at play), empirical evidence is used (e.g., archival records), and statistics can be applied (e.g., historimetrics, cliodynamics).
The final paper should provide the reader with a coherent narrative about your topic. It should consider the people, places, and (social) processes that define a historical episode.
