i need a responce to this classmates post below:
Class,
I have been reviewing your posts and you are all off to a good start here! As we move into our first scholarly discussion in the class I want to offer you all some formative tips and guidance in order to help you get the most out of this discussion work both in terms of learning and points!
First, be sure to read the discussion forum instructions carefully. Also, check the course schedule for posting due dates to be sure you are on time with your posts, so that you are actively participating.
Second, while it is fine to review the discussion question before completing the assigned readings, you should complete most of the assigned readings prior to attempting to answer the discussion question. I strongly suggest this because very often the discussion question has to do with concepts in the readings that will need to be understood and discussed in your main post. The information you read and research prior will most certainly give you a framework with which to write from.
In this case, we have Chapters 1 & 2 from Heine and an article from Hofstede to read prior to completing this discussion. In addition, you will need to find a scholarly article to support your assertions. Use the ESC library to do this. Contact a librarian for help if you need it. We have excellent resources here at ESC.
Third, be sure to cite in-text, APA style throughout your post and also offer a reference (at the bottom of your post) each time you cite a source not part of our original assigned readings. Keep in mind that opinion is expected and welcomed, but it is not sufficient for this forum. Your posts must be supported by scholarly work based on readings and outside scholarly sources. Doing this work serves as a demonstration of your ability to understand and practically apply course concepts.
Fourth, remember that addressing all of the elements in the discussion question is necessary. In this case we must compare results from the our country of origin and then note any differences. This suggests that you must discuss your results here and note differences while doing so. This is a great place to incorporate Heine. Then you move on to discussing sameness and differences and you can cite both Heine and the author(s) of the scholarly article you found for this discussionâ¦â
I encourage you to post again if you need to add more elements to your post. I will see your second “main post” as well when grading.
In support of your best work!
