Introduction – This section overviews the main contents and sections of the

(conceptual framework) related to the study. It addresses the importance of the topical area or field of study. It discusses the theoretical frameworks of the
study. It further may discuss the history of the topic and its theoretical
underpinnings according to the literature. Additionally, it may address the
methodology employed in the study. For a quantitative study, the theory(ies) or models(s) guide the research question(s), justify what is being measured
(variables), and describe how those variables are related. This section also
includes a discussion of how the research question(s) align with the respective
theory(ies) or model(s) and illustrates how the study fits within the prior research based on the theory(ies) or model(s).
Topic Rationale – This next section discusses the rationale for the researcher’s
definition of the theoretical base for the study in terms of defining the selection of topics from the literature.
