New Parent INFORMATIONAL Brochure
Objective: Students are to create a 3 page informational brochure for parents who are expecting
their first child.
Directions: Read chapters 2-4 in your Essentials of Life-Span Development textbook. While you
are reading, pay special attention to the key terms and their definitions. (key terms are located at
the end of each chapter). Once you have read the chapters and have an understanding of the key
terms, decide what information from each chapter in your own opinion would be the most
helpful to parents expecting their first child. Then type up a 3 page informational brochure
designed to inform expecting parents. The brochure should clearly illustrate your understanding
of the information you read in the chapters. The brochure should contain 3 front panels and 3
back panels of information. In other words, it should be a trifold design.
Requirements: (please read all 8 requirements)
1.Page 1 should include what you consider to be the most important information from chapter 2.
You must correctly use at least 5 key terms from chapter 2 on this page.
2.Pages 2 and 3 should include what you consider to be the most important information from
chapters 3 and 4 You must correctly use at least 5 key terms from chapter 3 and 5 key term from
chapter 4 on these pages.
3. The pages must show that you have an understanding of the information contained in the
chapters.
4.Please make sure that the key terms are in bold in your pamphlet.
5.DO NOT simply write the definitions of the key terms in the pamphlet. Remember you are
designing a helpful tool for new parents based on the knowledge that you have gained from
reading chapters 2-4. Think about pamphlets that you have seen in doctorsâ offices or in
counseling centers.
6.This assignment should be in brochure form and each page should include at least 1 graphic.
7. Spelling and punctuation count!!!
8. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED!!!
Grading: This assignment counts for 100 points.
