PART 1. The disorder/issue(s).
Your task is to choose a fictional individual from any media source and describe him or her in terms of what you have learned in the class/text and perhaps Intro Psych [(C)PSY 102/202/105] or some other source. Specifically, what disorder(s) does the person appear to present with? If you can’t come up with a disorder, at least describe some personal/interpersonal/psychological/occupational issues this person may have. Is the depiction accurate or not? If yes, why? If not, why not? While discussing this or while describing the individual’s issue(s)/disorder(s), what in his/her history might have contributed to those disorder(s)/difficulties? Possible factors include genetics, early learning/experiences, drugs/alcohol, trauma, organic causes, and so on.
PART 2. The perspective(s) and your assignment grading/weighting.
For the preceding section, you need to describe the person—anything relevant—from the either one or two perspectives described in the text book. You will likely choose a perspective/chapter from among the ones we are doing, but you may choose from any of them or even a perspective not covered in the book (you can’t make it up and it can’t be some obscure perspective). If you choose to do it via two perspectives, the paper is worth 30%. If you do it via one perspective, the paper is worth 25%. There is another alternative that I will discuss in class.
