Students will write a paper regarding the application of a theory of personality

Students will write a paper regarding the application of a theory of personality
to the real-(or semi-real) world. For this paper, students should choose only
one theory and one application. Students should provide specific examples of
how the theory relates to the application that they have chosen and support
the examples with the textbook material when necessary. Students should
also critically evaluate the theory’s relation to the real-world application and
include this in the paper. For instance, students could write about how
Freud’s theory of the Oedipus complex relates to the movie Star Wars, the play
Hamlet; how Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development relates to Friends,
Pretty Little Liars, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Breaking Bad, or How I
Met Your Mother; how Adler’s birth order theory relates to Blackish, Modern
Family, or The Fosters; how Fromm’s freedom versus security challenges relate
to Catcher in the Rye, Game of Thrones, or the boxer Mike Tyson; how
Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs relates to Walking Dead or The Glass Castle; or
how Freud’s defense mechanisms relate to Shrek, etc. Other popular shows
you might consider are Stranger Things, The Office, and Friends. For movies
and movies include Harry Potter, the Avengers franchise, and The Hunger
Games, Remember the Titans, The Blind Side, Rudy, Inventing Anna, Emily in
Paris, The Good Place. Remember, we are interested in your ability to critically
draw connections between theories of personality and the real-world. In order
to get ideas, think of books that you have read, plays or movies that you have
seen, music that you have heard, news stories you have seen, etc. Your paper
should be 4-5 typed pages long (double-spaced, 10 or 12 pt. font, one-inch
