Revelations: Identify 5 revelations or
things that you learned and tell why each was a revelation. Number each revelation (1.
5). (50 points) Follow these guidelines for
developing your revelations. Your revelation
statements should focus on at least one of
the following:
Insights that you have gained about
yourself, others, etc. Discuss the
significance of what you have learned,
that is, how has what you learned
affected your thinking, potential
behavior, or how could it affect the
potential actions of others who knew
this?
New conceptual connections that you
have made, for example, the
relationship between knowledge about
Afrikan women and internalization of
myths and stereotypes of Black women;
or
Application of concepts we have
studied to film. For example, how does
the concept of intersectionality apply to
the film? Discuss the concept and how it
is demonstrated in the film.
Do not simply state facts.
1. Emotions: Identify 3 emotional responses
and indicate what evoked them. For example, anger, disappointment, gratitude, etc.
Number each emotion and discuss what
evoked it. (15 points)

• Use question format, e.g., what, why,

Do not ask questions for which you

Do not ask questions that were
answered in the film.
Do not ask rhetorical questions, e.g.
questions that cannot be answered.
Avoid questions that can be answered
with yes/no.
Application: Describe how you would apply
what you learned to address a
community/personal issue or need. (10
points)
