This project is a Movie/TV analysis. The project will involve viewing and critically analyzing the personality of a character in a movie or tv show. (Must choose from list provided or have approval for alternate media title.)
You will use information gleaned from a film to assess a character’s personality (choose only one character) from at least two (2) approaches. Approaches you can chose from: Psychoanalytic, Freudian, Trait, Biological, Humanistic, Behavioral/Social Learning, Cognitive
1) Describe each of the approaches. (200 – 250 words per approach).
2) Summarize the character (100 – 150 words).
3) Describe the character from each theoretical perspective (100 – 150 words per approach).
4) Summarize and present evidence for your analysis (300 – 350 words per approach).
a. In your analysis, include the benefits and drawbacks of the theoretical perspectives. We know that an individual cannot be fully described by one theoretical perspective and they each have benefits and limitations.
b. Include reasons for why your character developed their personality (genetics, family, environment, etc.)
Be sure to include references to the book, course materials, and/or other scholarly references. Your paper should be in full APA style. The body of the paper should be at least 5 pages (double-spaced). Don’t include fluff just to make it longer, stay focused on your analysis of the character based on the perspectives you have chosen. Make sure to use APA formatted in-text citations throughout the paper to support your discussion and include an APA formatted references page. (You do not need an abstract.)
